Disposable areas & systems
There will be a lot of waste material as well as dust and shaving from the stone and all of this will need some sort of means of being disposed either having a designated waste room or having a area outside. This doesn't have to be big as there will not be massive offcuts but the disposal bin/ area will need to be of a decent size. This also is where the extractions could take the dust and chipping coming off the stone and could be carried straight into the disposal area.
In monumental masonry there is not as much waste as there would be in larger types of masonry. With detailed pieces such as the picture above to the right it will have larger chunks of stone at the beginning gradually getting smaller to almost dust from it being smoothed.
Ventilation system
By having extractor fans in the space it no only sucks all the dust and small bits of stone away but gives makes the air cleaner and safe. As well as having a extractor fan it will need fresh air to be pumped into the space to keep the air clean. If its not well ventilated it can cause problems to the lungs and will effect the occupant.
